Oh HELLO you flawless domesticated Goddess….and if you can’t say those words to yourself in the mirror with conviction then I promise by the end of this post you will. Oh yes. These are like my little black dress of food. The prep is minimal and the reward BOUNTIFUL. Just imagine the juiciest, crunchiest most flavourful wings you have ever prepared. They are my go to when we are having a lot of people over for dinner. Perhaps you’re dating and having that first awkward ‘Come over to my house and i’ll cook’ moment. This will guarantee said guest becomes your new stalker. Or maybe you’re just single and appreciate some damn fine chicken wings? Then these are for you. We are covering all bases here kids.
Anyway, let me stop before I make them more amazing than they really are. In all seriousness though, they are whopper.
Here I present the list of players. Alot of which you probably already have in your cupboard.
OLIVE OIL, BROWN SUGAR, COARSE BLACK PEPPER, SMOKED PAPRIKA,GARLIC, CHILLI AND ONION POWDER. No you cannot use white sugar instead and substitute the olive oil for vegetable oil or use crap powdery black pepper that isn’t coarse. I know I’m being bossy but you will thank me later. And yes I am aware that the smoked paprika is missing from the pic:
Of course the chicken wings themselves. Such a sweet deal too.
Next after rinsing the nasty gooey stuff that lurks on raw chicken and patting it dry I like to throw all my ingredients into a large ziploc bag. You can obviously just use a large bowl if you don’t have any handy. Roughly 2 tablespoons of olive oil. 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. 1 teaspoon of everything else. Give or take. I tend to add a little more smoked paprika and garlic but that’s just preference. And because I’m a rebel like that. Let it mush together and if its not seeming moist enough add a little more oil. Then just throw those wings into the bag. Seal it shut and give a gentle shake to make sure everything gets covered. It should basically look like this:
Then into the fridge they go. I like to leave them in there for AT LEAST 3 hours, but the longer the better. If you really want to show off you will prep these the day before. When you are ready to cook them just preheat the oven onto 425f or 220c depending on what country you’re in. Line a pan and place your darlings in for twenty minutes, turn them over then let cook for an additional 10-15. Mine are little party wings but I would imagine if you were doing full size they would need a full 20 on each side.
Voila!! I truly wish you could smell the screen. I really do.
